Dear Church Family,
Upon discussions with several more of our leaders, it is with deep regret that I have to inform you of our need to cancel all Sunday services and Wednesday activities this upcoming week. As well, we will cancel all daily or nightly activities for this upcoming week (example: Tuesday women’s Bible studies, DivorceCare, etc). We will take this one week at a time.
Things have seemed to spiral downward over the last 24 hours. I have tried to avoid this decision and give us more time to assess our response, but I do want to respect the requests of government and health officials. Our president also reiterated the need for large gatherings to be suspended. On a typical Sunday, we have more than 1,000 worshipers who gather together.
Out of the interests of others, especially our senior adults, we have made the decision to not meet this Sunday as a church. However, we will be offering livestream and Facebook Live at 10:00am (links below). I hope you will join us online as we worship and pray together. I’m looking forward to sharing a message with you.
I also encourage you to pray and read your Bible together as a family. In light of all that has happened, it is very appropriate that we have been working through the book of Acts together as a church. They frequently met together in small groups. We may have to do that a bit more often over the next couple of weeks. I know this is not pleasant, but it is a wonderful opportunity for us to share Christ with our neighbors. The way we respond to crisis has a way of pointing others to Him.
