Awana for preschool & children ages 3 through 5th grade runs August 22 through May 22 (Wednesdays 6:15-7:45 pm). Cost: $30 for first child, $25 fo reach additional child for the year. Awana is a Bible-based program where kids learn to memorize scripture and apply the word of God to their lives. This occurs in an engaging atmosphere with fun and educational large group time and community-driven and caring small group time. AWANA Job Descriptions

AWANA Commander: Oversees the entire Awana® club and youth experience for the local church. Responsibilities include communicating vision, shepherding leaders, managing administrative duties and communicating to church leadership, parents, children and leaders.

Co-Commander: Assists Commander in whatever they may need and is available when the Commander has to be absent.

Club Secretary: Provides administrative support to the AWANA club by overseeing the individual Class Secretaries who maintain attendance and achievement records and track inventory.  Secretaries also prepare awards fordistribution and compile, place and receiveproduct orders.They also maintain permanent achievement records and assist the director and/or commander in award presentations.

Class Director: Oversees one age-specific Awana club. Responsibilities include communicating vision, shepherding leaders, managing administrative duties and communicating to church leadership, parents, children and leaders.

Class Leader: Teaches children or youth age-appropriate Bible lessons in a large group setting. 

Class Listener: Supports the leader by listening to kids recite sections during Handbook Time.

Class Secretary: Provides administrative support by maintaining attendance and achievement records, tracking inventory and contacting the Club Secretary for the needed supplies. Secretaries keep nightly achievement records and tally team points to determine the winning team for each weekly Awana ministry gathering. 

Game Director: Game directors are in charge of choosing age-appropriate games, knowing and providing clear instructions and supporting ministry night themes and activities. Game directors also organize, maintain and request game equipment. During Game Time, the game director gives instructions and facilitates each game by communicating and demonstrating game rules.

Games Leader: During Game Time the Game Leaders help the Game Director byhelping maintain proper discipline and order, stagger athletic with non-athletic games and model good sportsmanship. Most importantly, he exhibits enthusiasm and a positive, “let’s-have-fun” attitude! Simple, fast-paced games make Game Time fun for everyone. A good rule of thumb is to not play a game that takes longer to explain than it does to play.
