Sunday Morning Schedule

Childcare 8:30am  |  Life Groups 9:45am  |  Extended Teaching 11:00am

STEP 1

Check-In

Check in at the Green Street Preschool D Welcome Desk located upon entering Entrance D. You will be greeted by our desk volunteers who will ask you to complete a communications card.

STEP 2

Name Tags

The desk volunteer will print a security tag for your child. The tag with your child’s name goes on the child’s back. The remaining tag has a security code that matches your child’s sticker. To ensure your child’s safety, you will need this tag to pick up your child.

STEP 3

Class Time

Our volunteers will then escort you to your child’s classroom where you will be introduced to their teachers who will love your child and teach him/her about Jesus. If you are needed during the service, we will text you and/or a volunteer will come to find you.

STEP 4

Pick-Up

Bring your parent tag to pick up your child in their room. If you need assistance, a volunteer will be available to assist you.  For security purposes, a parent tag is required to enter the preschool area.

Safety

We have a great group of leaders who are faithful to serve each week and share God’s love with the children. Each volunteer has had age level mentoring/training, as well as a thorough background check. You can be assured your child is being cared for in a safe environment.

Special Needs

The Preschool Ministry welcomes all children. If your child has special needs or allergies, please contact us, ahead of time.

Weekly Activities

Sundays

8:30am Preschool Childcare

Childcare is offered for those families attending the 8:30am Worship Service.

9:45am Preschool Life Groups

Life Groups are where we begin laying a solid foundation for preschoolers to learn the basics of our faith. Parents have the primary responsibility of teaching their children biblical truth, but as a church, we assist them in this task. Babies through Pre-K remain in their class for the extended teaching time. Kindergartners worship with their families and attend Life Group at the same time as their parents.

11:00am Extended Teaching

Babies through Twos continue teaching time using the same Bible story and Bible verses with different learning experiences. The idea is that if a child only attends this hour, they are still able to receive Bible teaching and instruction.

Preschool Worship is offered for our Threes and Fours focusing on one Bible story for the entire month. Preschool Worship includes free-play in centers, a Bible lesson, music and small group time.

Chris 1

Childcare

Childcare through age 4 is generally provided during special church services or during special events, when other programming is not offered.

If there are exceptions (such as Christmas Eve Family services) when childcare or regular programming is not available, you will be notified via churchwide publications.

Paid childcare workers are carefully screened and supervised to ensure the safety of the preschoolers left in our care.

The Preschool Ministry welcomes all children. If your child has special needs or allergies, please communicate with our Preschool Director, Angie Broaddus, ahead of time.

It may be helpful for you to review our schedule and maps and our frequently asked questions.

Missions Friends

Missions Friends meet 6:30 - 7:30 pm for 2 year olds through Kindergarten during the month of August.

During the month of August, 2 year olds through kindergarten participate in Mission Fun Around the World, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Each week we focus on a particular country. Children travel to rotational sites where they experience a variety of activities that are similar to the children of the country studied. They also taste food from the country, learn music and hear a mission story.

Awana

Beginning at 3 years of age, preschoolers may attend Awana from September through mid-May, 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm.

Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve Him.

How does Awana fulfill this mission? Through God’s guidance and power, Awana strives to: reach kids, equip leaders and change the world.

Awana offers a fun, proven approach for early evangelism and discipleship. Scripture-based programs and exciting games attract families, promote Bible literacy and help kids develop lifelong faith in Christ.

Our Commitment

Grow like Jesus

It is our goal to help your child grow just like Jesus,“in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)

The Preschool Ministry at Green Street is a cooperative effort between the church and the home as parents and staff team up to teach preschoolers about Jesus. It is our desire to partner with parents to love and disciple the children God has entrusted to us.

We are designed to meet the needs of preschoolers from birth through kindergarten. From our bright, secure facilities to our team of skilled volunteers, we provide the right environment for our youngest members to learn their first lessons about God and His love for them.

Every time your preschooler visits our Preschool Ministry, they will experience Bible truths and stories in a relevant and meaningful way. Our curriculum is age appropriate and Biblically sound.

Learn by Experience

At Green Street, we are committed to helping your preschooler:

  • Know that Jesus loves him/her.

  • Begin to associate God with feelings of wonder, love, and happiness.

  • Desire to talk to God in his/her own way.

  • Learn that the Bible is a special book and become familiar with and enjoy Bible stories, Bible thoughts, and scriptures that are developmentally appropriate for him/her.

  • Feel comfortable and happy, loved and wanted, secure and unhurried.

  • Feel more secure with adults, other children, and in new situations.

  • Think of church as a place where he or she can have happy experiences and make special friends.
