Furniture Ministry Needs You:

What we do: Collect and distribute basic furniture/furnishings to families coming out of difficult circumstances, such as a battered women’s shelter, burned-out home, etc.

Why we do it: To share Christ’s love through both our words and our actions.

GREATEST NEEDS: Volunteers to move furniture, organize donations, etc. Connection Classes to commit to 4-5 volunteers one Saturday morning (9 am to noon) per quarter. Anyone 9 years old and up can help!

Small items needed: (gently used or new): can openers, end tables, lamps, lamp harps (variety of sizes), small kitchen appliances, bedspreads, blankets, twin sheets. Place in the wooden cart in the Welcome Area during the month of June.

Larger items needed: (gently used or new): dressers, small kitchen tables, bed frames, etc. We can arrange to pick these up on Saturday mornings if that is needed.

Why do I volunteer with the Furniture Ministry? “We set up some beds for a little girl and her sister. What I saw was that the bedspreads didn’t match, and we didn’t have a dresser for her to use. But when SHE saw the room, she literally jumped up and down for joy because she had a bed to sleep in that night. And that gave me a whole new perspective.”
