Christmas Outreach Collection

Locally, we will serve with some of our partners to share the love of Jesus and joy of Christmas with local families in need. One of the easiest ways to help is by donating items for the 40 blessing baskets we will provide to our local ministry partners (Open Door Arthur Cassell Veterans Home, West End Ministries Leslie’s House, Single Moms Home at Baptist Children’s Homes, Seven Homes Foster Care (Family of 7 kids), Angels in Blue with the High Point Police Department). Every blessing basket includes a student study Bible and family devotional (both already purchased).

• Preschool Ministry will focus on the Single Moms Home at Baptist Children’s Homes. They are collecting donations for a preschool playset. Any amount helps!
• Kids Ministry is collecting full size blankets for the blessing baskets. You can see examples at the missions tables or at the Kids Ministry collection station/check-in desk.
• Student Ministry is collecting toilet paper (4 or 6 pack, not individual rolls) for the blessing baskets. You can see examples at the missions tables or at the Students Ministry collection station/check-in desk.
• Adults, Life Groups, Families: You can choose to donate items for blessing baskets. A list of items for the blessing baskets are on the reverse page. You could choose to donate contents for an entire blessing basket. Contact Meredith@greenstreet.org with questions. Thank you that we have completed all of our sponsorships of families. We’d love for the community families to know us beyond the Christmas season & we’ll invite them to our Christmas nights of worship!

We will host a Wrapping/Blessing Basket Assembly Party on Sunday, December 10 at 3pm in the Student Middle School Room (Refuge Gym 2nd floor, enter Refuge Gym main entrance) to prepare all of the gifts for delivery. You will also be given an opportunity to participate in the delivery, December 13-15 (Angels in Blue), if you choose; let Meredith know if you would like to help deliver your gifts. Other ministry delivery dates vary.

As mentioned, we will be assembling Blessings Baskets to give to every partner family in the outreach with their gift delivery. Please see the list of items needed for Blessings Baskets (above).

Of course, we would also like the opportunity to pray together for the families, ministries and first responders involved. We will also enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and treats.

During our December 2 and 3 Christmas program (Prophecy Foretold, 6pm), we will be asking those in attendance to donate $10 gift cards for Angels in Blue and local foster families. At the Student Ministry Night of Christmas Worship on December 20, 6pm, we are asking for canned beans (pinto or black beans) for local missions.
