Making Disciples

Striving to be like Jesus, His followers have the responsibility and opportunity to serve. God has created each person uniquely, and with different gifts and abilities. No two people are exactly the same. When someone accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior they are given spiritual gifts by God. These gifts are intended to be exercised while serving and making disciples.

We want to help you discover your gifts and provide opportunities for you to serve the Lord by serving others locally, nationally, and even globally - loving your next-door neighbor to your neighbor across the sea as we serve and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ..

Serve Directory

You can start this process by viewing our Serve Directory picking one up at the church or clicking here to view digitally. You may also talk to Meredith in our Missions Office at 336-819-4355, email us or talk with one of our pastors/ministry directors.

There are many volunteer needs. A new need we were made aware of is with Hospice. Click here for their full list, but their greatest need is Patient/Family Volunteers.

One Day Baptist Children's Home Mission: September 23

Friends of Children is a one-day missions opportunity for our church to gather with others to tackle projects at one of Baptist Children’s Homes’ (BCH) ministry locations. There are projects for all ages making this a perfect way for your youth –or any group — to be the hands and feet of Jesus while seeing the BCH ministry up close.

• Work side by side with BCH’s boys, girls and staff
• Tour children’s cottages
• Enjoy a FREE lunch

Check in is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Projects are from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch is served at noon and optional tours are available afterwards.

September 23: Mills Home, Thomasville

Register with Baptist Children's Homes directly by clicking here.
And, if you would, also email Meredith so we are aware of all those from Green Street who'll be participating.

Mission Trips

We may drive to Charlotte to serve with a missionary we support, or to Wypming to serve the hispanic community or to New York to help with the distribution of Coats for the City or to the Middle East to serve refugees or to Romania to serve orphans. Or, we may serve with Baptists on Mission in a state or national Rebuilding/Disaster Relief effort.  We are prayerfully considering trips for the 2023-2024 year.

Life, Foster Care & Adoption Ministry

Not all are called to foster or adopt, but all are called to encourage, serve, build up. We have many ways for you to serve these precious children and those who are caring for them.

If you are interested in foster care, respite care or adoption, contact: Baptist Children's Homes of NC or Seven Homes.

There are also many opportunities to serve with New Life Family Outreach (formerly Pregnancy Care Center) or the Guardian ad Litem Program
